Jackson, TN - The Lady Eagles made it two in a row on Tuesday as they played host to Transouth conference rival Trevecca Nazarene. Lambuth won the match, 3-0.
Lambuth was quickest to strike as they scored the first goal of the game in the second minute.
Sophomore, Jessie Metcalf delivered a telling cross, from the right hand side, which was met on the volley by junior forward Lesley Ann Thorpe for her second goal of the season.
The 1-0 score would remain in tact until the break. Although Lambuth missed several chances to add to the lead in the first half of play.
The second half saw many more squandered opportunities for the Lady Eagles as junior goalkeeper Connie Hanson was able to punt almost the length of the field, but none of her team mates were able to capitalize on the well placed balls.
The second goal did come however in the 54th minute when freshman forward Amy Pulliam received a ball from fellow freshman Megan Ladner inside Lambuth’s half and she was able to dribble nearly fifty yards before slotting the ball neatly home for her second score of the year.
In the seventh minute Thorpe

(pictured at right) anticipated the bounce well after a Connie Hanson punt as she ran clear of the defenders with only Trevecca's keeper to beat, but Thorpe put a little to much on her shot and the keeper was able hold Lambuth's lead to two.
Jessie Metcalf and Thorpe would link up once more though as with 8 minutes to go, from a corner kick on the right side, Metcalf found Thorpe inside the box and she was able to volley home for her third goal of the season.
Also at the top of her game was goalkeeper Connie Hanson who made some crucial saves in the second half to make it two shut out’s in a row for the Lady Eagles.
Lambuth will have the first of three games in five days starting Saturday as they travel to conference rival Cumberland University. Kick off is slated for 2pm
