Lambuth avenged an earlier season loss by pounding Hiwasssee College Wednesday night 109-68. Lambuth won their second straight game and moved to 12-7 on the year.

It was an embarrassing night for the the vistors from Maryville, and not just because of the score. Six technicals were called on the squad which continually questioned the Gulf South Conference officials. Several ugly incidents trying to draw Lambuth into confrontations did not work and the composed Eagles took an early 30-10 lead. They led 52-20 at the break and were never headed in the rout of the Tigers.

Five Lambuth players scored in double figures, led by Maurice Taylor who had 16 points. Jay Hughes has 15 points and ten rebounds. Antwan Long had 14 points and ten boards.Nakeem Floyd and Xavier Price had ten points each.

The Eagles travel to Valdosta State for an exhibition game Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m.
