Jackson, TN - In my fourth year here at Lambuth University, Jackson, TN is finally having a real winter. Not only was the fall a mess with all the rain, now the winter is awful with all the snow. Normally one snowfall is a lot for TN, we have had three in the past three weeks. I do not know for sure, but we have had somewhere from 10-12 inches in those previous three weeks.

The cancellations started Feb. 9th when the doubleheader with Shepherd College was cancelled. A makeup date for this contest is still undecided. Because of the low temperatures the snow and ice stayed around for longer then expected. Due to this the weekend three game series against Delta State University on Feb. 13th and 14th was cancelled. Due to weekends being filled, the two teams will try and make up one or two of these games during the midweek later in the year.

Not only has the Varsity program took a hit with five games being cancelled, but the JV program took a hit this week having four games cancelled due to the third snowfall. On Monday, February 15th the JV doubleheader with Wabash Valley was cancelled and Wednesdays doubleheader against Southwest TN was also cancelled due to the weather conditions.

The Varsity was suppose to play Rust College in a doubleheader on Tuesday the 16th. The doubleheader was not cancelled, but moved to Thursday the 18th at 12:00.

The Lambuth Baseball team is very anxious to get back onto the baseball field. These last two weeks have been very tough with the weather. We hope that this is it for the remainder of the season and baseball weather will start.

After Thursday's game against Rust College, Lambuth will host Calumet College this weekend in a four game series. Both days the doubleheader will start at 12:00. We hope to see you all at the ballpark.
