Jackson, TN - Lambuth traveled to Lebanon, TN on Saturday to play another conference rival Cumberland University and came away with a 4-3 win to move to 2-1 in conference.

The Lady Eagles did not start off as planned as just one minute into the contest freshman, Megan Ladner aggravated an ankle problem and Lambuth were forced to use an early sub. Not more than two minutes later Cumberland got on the scoreboard with a well placed shot by #2 Sarah Rienzo.

Lambuth soon settled down and started to play and with just over half an hour gone they got their just rewards when senior, Lauren Wagner hit a shot from 30yards out that nestled in the top corner of the net, Amy Pulliam credited with the assist. The score would remain the same at the half.

The second half saw some rejuvenation as freshman Megan Ladner was able to go back into the game after receiving some treatment. However, some slack defending gifted Cumberland their second lead of the game, with Rienzo scoring past GK Alicia McPherson. It seemed to spur the Lady Eagles into life as less than six minutes later freshman Megan Ladner received a ball from Lesley Ann Thorpe which she quickly controlled and tucked away into the bottom corner giving the GK no chance.

Six minutes later the Lady Eagles broke quickly down the right side with freshman Amy Pulliam who picked out Kerry Schwamb at the back post for her first goal of the season to make it 3-2 Lambuth. They would extend their lead once again in the 74min with some nice possession play Kerry Schwamb found an unmarked Megan Ladner outside the box, which the freshman calmly drove into the top of the net to make it her second of the day and put the score 4-2. The scoring would not end their as #2 for Cumberland grabbed her hat-trick for the day as the match finished 4-3 Lambuth.

That now puts the Lady Eagles at 2-1 in conference and 3-3 overall. The Lady Eagles must recover quickly as they host Division I, Tennessee-Martin at Lambuth on Monday at 4pm
