Jackson, TN—Lambuth University junior, Brad Robbins placed second in his first ever college golf tournament Tuesday in the Union University Fall Invitational golf tournament.
Robbins, from Paducah, KY is at Lambuth on a tennis scholarship and walked on to the golf team this year.
Robbins shot even par 72 in the first round of competition and closed with a 75 in the final round. Those scores were good enough to tie Robbins with Brock Bullard of Lyon College for a two way first place tie. Robbins lost to Bullard on the second playoff hole.
Lambuth coach Andy Farmer said, “ It is a remarkable feat for Brad in that he has not been able to practice a great deal because of tennis and his school work. He is a fine player who stays cool under pressure. He will gain even more confidence, as he is able to practice more. I am really proud of him. He is a player who has a great desire to excel.”
