Jackson, TN – Lambuth University Head Tennis Coach James Parker is proud to announce the signing of Jackson Christian School’s Elizabeth Austin. Austin, who is no stranger to Lambuth, will continue her education and tennis career beginning in the fall of 2007.
Austin is the daughter of Mr. and Dr. Dennis Austin of Jackson. Elizabeth’s mother Dr. Joy Austin is a Lambuth Professor and alumna while her sister Emily Austin-Thompson is also a Lambuth graduate and was an All-Conference tennis player.
“Our family is thrilled that Elizabeth is planning to attend Lambuth and to play tennis there,” commented Dr. Austin. “I have always promoted Lambuth with all of my heart and it is a great institution.”
“Elizabeth has worked hard for years to perfect her game,” commented Coach Parker. “She comes from a family with a strong Lambuth tradition and I am excited to see her follow in the footsteps of her sister who was a great player at Lambuth. Elizabeth is a great addition to our team and she will help us move the program forward over the next four years.”
Austin made her commitment official today at Jackson Christian School in front of her friends, family, and teammates. She will be taking part in the pre-law professional studies program while at Lambuth. “I have grown up as part of the Lambuth family and my mother deeply loves the school. I have worked with Coach Parker over the last several years, he is a great coach, and I am looking forward to playing for him as an Eagle at Lambuth.”
