Lambuth Golfers Aaron Ingalls and Eddy Whitaker advanced to quarterfinals of the Tennessee State Four Ball Championships at The Ridges Country Club in Jonesborough.  The duo was in second after the first round of qualifying with a 6 under par total.  A 3 under round in the second round left them at 9 under and in a tie for 7th.  The top 16 teams qualified for stroke play and the pair got off to a good start when Whitaker splashed a bunker shot in for a birdie on the first.  The first eight holes were tight with the Eagles holding a 1 up lead until Ingalls rolled in a 50 foot birdie putt from the fringe on the 9th.  Ingalls birdied the 10th to up the lead to 3 up. Birdies by Whitaker on 12 and 13 increased the lead to 5 up.  Ingalls rolled in a birdie putt on the 14th to halve the hole and secure a 5 and 4 victory.  The pair advanced to the quarterfinals with the victory but could only manage 1 birdie in a 3 and 2 defeat.

Congratulations to the guys for a great tournament where they finished ahead of many of the best amateurs in the state and golfers from Division I schools. Pictures and videos can be found on the Lambuth Golf Facebook page.
