After two consecutive road losses, Lambuth returned to it's winning ways with a thrilling 3-2 overtime win against conference foe, Mid Continent last Wednesday.
Both teams came into the game with a 4-1 conference mark and both ranked in the NAIA Top 25.
In a physical and pulsating clash both teams showed why they were worthy of their national ranking.
MCC led 2-0 at the break but the Eagles responded in great fashion with a super second period effort. In the 65th minute, Wade Wadsworth met a Harrington free kick to lead Lambuth back into the contest. The match continued back and forth until J.W. Hunt scored in the 83rd minute to knot the score.
The game went to overtime and only a great save from Brenton Saylor kept Lambuth alive. Magic then struck as Hunt ghosted past a MCC defender and drilled into the net the game winner.
The Eagles moved to 8-4 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
Coach Conway said, " That's a great result and a good team performance. MCC is a great program and it is never easy to play against them, but going down 2-0 makes it even tougher. The lads showed unbelievable character and desire. We've lacked confidence in the last two games, so I hope we can build on this type performance."
