Lambuth's Leslie Garside has a commanding lead after day one of the Rhodes College Golf Classic Tournament in Tunica, MS. The tourney is being played at the National Golf Club in Tunica with day two being played today at that same location. Garside's two-over par 74 puts her a whopping nine shots ahead of any one else in the field.
The senior from Jackson North Side hit 16-of-18 greens and 13-of-14 fairways. She birdied three holes in 15 mile-per-hour winds.
Lambuth coach Andy Farmer said, "Leslie was great , she battled the wind and had a remarkable round. She was consistent and hit some great approach shots. I am really proud of her. She has worked hard on her game and continues to be a joy to work with."
