
The Lambuth University Swim team enjoyed huge success at the recent Sewanee Meet. Most everyone swam their best times ever. Despite being the smallest team in the competition the squad put up some of the best scores.
Coach Heather Thauer said, " I am so pleased with the effort and success of our student athletes. We may have been the smallest team there but we had the biggest hearts. I am so excited about the future of our program."
Andrea Mason made the National Qualifing times in the Women''s 100 Backstroke and the Women's 200 Backstroke.She also finished second in the 100 Back with a time 1:04.64. Mason swam the lead leg of the 200 Free Relay which gave her an official time of 26.83 for the 50 Free.
Kimberly Bridgman swam the 1650 (1mile) yard for the first time ever. She placed 20th. She swam the 50 Free at 32.47 placing 25th and placed 20th in the 500 Free event.
Hannah Burch delivered her best times ever in several events and finished in the top 25 in several events. Burch took off a whoppping 11.36 seconds in the 50 Back with a time of 43.64.. She placed 37th in the event.
Ashlee David swam the 50 Breast in 35.69 placing 10th and placed eighth in the 200 IM. She did well in several other events.
Lore' Spencer swam the 50 Back in 32.60 placing 17th, 200 Back in 2:28.71 placing ninth.Spencer also finished in the top 20 in several events.
James Dozier swam the Men's 50 Breast at 40.74 placing 31st, the 50 Free at 28.37 placing 37th and the 100 Free at 1:02.41 placing 25th.
The squad continues the season with hopes of attending the Nationals in late February. The team will be raising money for the trip. If you would like to contribute please call Coach Heather Thauer at 731-425-3234.
