The Lambuth Eagles saw their season come to a close Monday as they dropped a 3-1 decision  to 2nd ranked Lindsey Wilson.

The match was played at Mid-Continent College in Mayfield, Kentucky.  The Eagles and the Blue Raiders waited an hour and half after a morning thunder storm rolled through Western Kentucky with lightning that delayed  the start of the game.

The Eagles trailed 2-0 at the break and fell behind 3-0 before J W Hunt scored on a free kick at the 82nd minute to make it 3-1.

The Eagles won the TranSouth Conference regular season championship and finished 12-7 on the year.

Lambuth loses only two seniors, both who had great careers at the school, Brenton Saylor and J W Hunt.

Coach Paul Conway told the team after the match, " We can learn from this game.  We played the 2nd ranked team and gave them a battle but  we see ways we have to improve to be in that position ourselves. We will miss our two seniors and we thank them for being such great student athletes who have contributed so much to our program."
