The University Of Tampa (NCAA DI), University of New Orleans (NCAA DI), Missouri State (NCAA DI) and Delta State University (NCAA DII) churned the waters while they pushed and pulled the Swimming Eagles into several best times today during day one of the Delta State Christmas Invitational.
Andrea Mason placed 18th in the 50 yard Freestyle, bettering her season's best time and Lore' Spencer placed 24th in the 50 Freestyle also bettering her season's best time.
Hannah Burch dropped her 50 Free time to a 34.46 and Kimberly Bridgman dropped time to a college career best of 31.21 during her leg of the 200 Free Relay. In another highlight of the day, JW Hunt competed in his first official college meet today, swimming a 25.20 in the 50 Free. Coach Thauer was overheard saying, "One of the nice things about this meet is that our Swimming Eagles are completely out of their comfort zone. They know that in order to do well they are going to have to step up and swim smarter, smoother, stronger and faster in order to place at all here. I think they are doing a great job of just that."
Events tomorrow will include the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle, 100 Breast Stroke and the 100 Back Stroke. Lore' Spencer will be looking to make the NAIA National cut time in the 100 Backstroke.
