The NAIA Swimming and Diving Top Times List  came out on Thursday and Lambuth Freshman Andrea Mason is on it not once, but twice!
The NAIA publishes this list five  times during the course of a swim season.  It lists and ranks the top 20 swimmers across the nation and their times for each event and distance.  Andrea Mason set high goals for herself at the beginning of the season.  She then set about achieving those goals.  Her determination, perseverance and hard work is paying off now!  Andrea is ranked 12th in the 200 yard Backstroke with a time of 2:15.89 and 19th in the 100 yard Backstroke with a time of 1:04.64.
Andrea has qualified in three events for the National Championship Meet to be held in San Antonio, Texas the end of February.  Those events are the 100 yard Backstroke, the 200 yard Backstroke and the 50 yard Freestyle.  She is also part of the 200 Medley Relay team that made the qualifying time back in November.  Other Lady Eagles that are part of that relay team are Kimberly Bridgman, Ashlee David and Lore' Spencer.  Lore' has also qualified in the 200 yard Backstroke event.  Most of the Women are so very close to meeting the qualifying time in at least one or two  more events.  Look for those times to drop in the Agnes Scott College meet on February 2nd, as the Eagles have been training hard since they got back from Christmas Break.
