The Lambuth University Lady Eagles softball team opened their 2008 season with a doubleheader split with CBU Tuesday. The Lady Eagles had a 3-0 lead in the first game but could not hold on, losing 4-3. In the second game Lambuth came back with a 4-2 win.


Lambuth had a 3-0 lead in game one but CBU came from behind to win 4-3. Julie Ledford had a single and one RBI while Alyson Taylor was 2 for 3 with  two singles. Wendi Makus took the hard luck loss.

In game two the Lady Eagles gained  the split with a 4-2 win. Molly Wright singled and had one RBI while Jessica Brown doubled and had an RBI. Wendi Makus had two singles and one RBI. Anne Leslie Wakefield was the winning pitcher.

The Lady Eagles will be back in action Saturday with a doubleheader at Lyon College. Game one begins at 1:30 pm.
