Kansas City, MO - The # 3 Lambuth Eagles will play St. Xavier (Ill.) in the first round of the NAIA Division l Men's Basketball National Tournament. The Eagles and Cougars will meet Thursday, March 20th at 10:45 a.m.

St. Xavier was ranked # 29 in the final national polls. The Cougars finished 24-8 on the year. They play in the  Chicagoland Collegiate  Athletic Conference. They finished third in the league this season.


The Cougars are led in scoring by sophomore guard, Julian Scott who averages 14.9 points per game. He shot an impressive 53 percent from the field this season. Junior forward, Adam Gregorious averages 12.7 points per contest.

The Cougars lost 78-74 to Olivet Nazarene University  in the conference tournament semi-finals.

The Eagles won the TranSouth Conference regular season championship and are coming off the conference tournament championship win over Trevecca, 88-71.

Lambuth enters the game with a 29-3 record.
