Jackson, TN - Lambuth University Women's Head Basketball Coach, Joe Reints, is proud to announce the signing of Gwen Delk. Delk, a former All-State performer at Jackson Northside was a TSSAA Miss Basketball winner her senior year at the school. Delk is one of Jackson's most decorated women's basketball players in recent years.
Delk, the daughter of former Lambuth Hall-of-Famer, Rickey Delk, averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds her senior year.
Delk signed with Central Arkansas after her high school career but due to an injury did not play this past season.
Delk is the niece of former University of Kentucky and NBA standout Tony Delk. Her dad was a four- time all-conference player while at Lambuth. He left the school as Lambuth's leading scorer with 2, 327 points.
Her high school team was 100-5 during her career.
Coach Joe Reints commented, " We are really happy Gwen has chosen to be a student athlete at Lambuth. Her family has been and is a big part of the Lambuth legacy. She will add depth to the post postion for us. She can be a huge part of our future at Lambuth. She is working on getting back into shape after sitting out a year due to her injury. We are excited about her coming to Lambuith."
