Jackson, TN - Joe Reints, Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Lambuth University, is pleased to announce the signing of Ashley Franklin, of Creek Wood High School, to the 2008-2009 squad.

Reints says, “Franklin will bring an intense work ethic and competitive fire that will become a great asset to our team. Ashley led her team to the State Tournament in class 2A and that leadership will enhance our program over the next four years.”

Franklin led her Creek Wood High School team to a record of 27-7, and earned honors as a 1st Team All-District (District 11) and All-Region Team (Region 6). Franklin averaged 9.6 pts/game and 6.4 assists while knocking down 75% of her Free Throw attempts. Reints says, “We have built a relationship with Ashley through our summer camps, and Coach Mullinicks is one of the hardest working coaches in Tennessee and the results have shown. He has done a tremendous job getting Ashley ready for the college game.”

“I am excited to continue my basketball career at Lambuth University. I love the way Coach Reints runs a very structured program with great intensity. I look forward to being a Lambuth Lady Eagle and relish the chance to make a difference. Coach Reints stresses doing the little things and there is nothing I enjoy more than doing those things like making a great pass to lead a teammate to score,” Franklin said.

Franklin plans to study Education at Lambuth.
