KANSAS CITY, Mo. –Brent Ebinger has been selected as the NAIA Baseball Pitcher of the Week while Kyle Greene of Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) College was awarded the NAIA Baseball Player of the Week for March 31-April 6.
Ebinger, a 5-10 sophomore left-hander from Hendersonville, Tenn., faced the minimum in tossing his first career no-hitter, blanking Mid-Continent (Ky.) 6-0 last Saturday (April 5). He pitched his sixth complete game (7.00 innings) this year posting six strikeouts and no walks in 64 total pitches. He now stands 8-1 on the year with a 1.80 ERA and ranks fifth in the NAIA in total wins. Mid-Continent entered the game averaging 4.3 runs/game.
Greene, a 6-0 senior 1B from Lewiston, Idaho, made NAIA history by belting two grand slams in one game. In the 10-9 loss to NCAA Division I Dixie State (Utah), he went 3-for-4 with a double, two homers, two runs scored and eight RBI. He stands as the ninth player in NAIA history to record two grand slams in a single game and the first since Robb McClemans of Mount Marty College (S.D.) on April 3, 2006.
The next Players of the Week will be announced on April 16.
