When Leslie Garside first came to Lambuth to play golf, she set a goal to win the conference championship and  compete for the player of the year award. Those goals  were achieved and realized this week as Leslie took women's golf at Lambuth to a new level after winning the TSAC Tournament in Nashville.

Conditions were tough at the Hermitage Golf Club  in Nashville Monday with only five golfers breaking 90. Garside shot 85 in windy conditions to take the first day lead. She followed up the next day with an 80 and finished as the low medalist in the tournament.

Leslie is the first Lambuth golfer to win a tournament in the school's history. She has won three of the last four tournament's she has competed in.

She advances to the NAIA Regional, May 1st, at the Maywood Country Club in Bardstown, Kentucky.

Leslie commented after her big win, "It has been a goal of mine since I was a freshman to win the conference. It was tough conditions but I was pleased with my ball striking. I struggled with the putter so I need to continue to work on that."

Coach Andy Farmer commented, commented on Leslie's play, "This is very special for our program. She battled her way through the tournament with a lot of composure. The putter was not clicking but she struck the ball beautifully. I am really proud of her."
