Lindsey Akin
The Lambuth Lady Eagle softball squad has been riddled with injuries this season but Coach Shannon Tanner still has high hopes as the Lady Eagles get ready for the stretch run closing out the regular season.
Alyson Taylor who was leading the team in RBI's when she went down with an injury is back. Lindsey Akin who leads the team in batting is out with an ankle injury but is expected to be back soon.
Coach Tanner commented on the season. " It seems like we have been forced to move people around most of the year due to injuries. Injuries have really affected our confidence. Alyson and Lindsey are two of our best hitters. Pitching, for the most part has been strong. We have not been able to get that timely hit at times. That is a confidence thing. The last several games we have done a better job of that and I feel we can beat anyone on our schedule if we can regain that confidence. We have gone back to the basics in our hitting instruction sessions. The remaining schedule is tough with most of our games on the road. We know it will be tough but our players are great student athletes and I will be surprised if they do not embrace the challenge of finishing strong. We have split with most of the teams remaining on our schedule so there is no reason we can not finish in good fashion and be ready for our conference tournament."
