In the pre-season TranSouth Conference baseball poll, John Barlowe's Lambuth Eagles were picked to finish ninth in league play.

The Eagles finished the regular season with a 15-8 conference mark, good enough for a second place finish in the league. With that record, Coach Barlowe was named the TranSouth Conference Coach of the Year.

The Eagles finished 29-20 overall. Lambuth was 19-11 at home this season, 9-8 on the road and 1-1 in neutral site games.

Lambuth will be making its first trip to the conference tournament since joining the TranSouth Conference. The Eagles are going to the regional tournament for the first time since 2005.

Coach Barlowe commented on the award, " I would like to thank the coaches of the conference for voting for me. It is  always special to be recognized by your peers.I would like to thank my family. My wife Terri, daughters, Melissa and Megan, for their continued support." Coach Barlowe said the Lambuth family has been great, "Dr. Fred Zuker and former Athletics Director Don Shaver had a vision for our program and I am grateful for their passion and dedication. My assistant coach, Jason Anderegg is a great teacher, coach, recruiter and mentor for our program. He is the glue that holds our program together."

Finally, Coach Barlowe spoke of his players, " I would like to thank the players for buying into our system. Their hard work and dedication made this season a successful one. They learned how to win and pulled together as a team."
