The Lambuth Lady Eagles have announced their 2008 Summer Basketball Camps.
The camp schedule consists of the Lambuth Competition Camp and Lambuth Position Camp to be held on the beautiful Lambuth Campus, and two satellite camps at Bartlett United Methodist Church and Collinwood High School.
Coach Reints says, "I am pleased with the growth of our camps over the last few years and expect this summer's camps to be the best yet. Several of our student-athletes will be here to work and interact with these young basketball players each day of camp. It is a great opportunity to forge lasting relationships with the youth of our community and the state of Tennessee."
The Competition Camp will run July 7-9, 2008 for individuals entering grades 7-12. The camp will consist of individual skill development from 9:00 a.m. to Noon each day. Team concepts including offense, defense, and transition will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Games will begin at 4:00 p.m. Each team is guaranteed at least two games per day. Team games will be coached by a member of the Lambuth Lady Eagle Team. All team members' applications must be returned together and a maximum of 8 players per team. Cost of the camp is $400 per team or $100 per individual.
The Lambuth Position Camp will be held July 10-11, 2008 and is perfect for those athletes wanting to play at the highest level. The Position Camp focuses on individual position development encompassed by all around skill improvement. Campers will improve through teaching progressions from the Lambuth Coaching Staff and players. Only students entering grades 5-12 in the fall are eligible to attend. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10. The camp begins at 9:00 a.m. and will run until 5:00 p.m. each day. Attend the Competition Camp and receive a $10 discount to Position Camp. Cost of the Position Camp is $75.
Lambuth will host a satellite camp at Bartlett United Methodist Church June 9-11 for boys and girls entering grades 2-8. The emphasis of the camp will be basic fundamentals of individual and team play. Campers will work out from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. each day. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. on the first day; pick-up is from 5:00-5:30 p.m. each day and must be by an adult. Cost of the Bartlett Camp is $75.
Finally, Lambuth Women's Basketball will host a satellite camp at Collinwood High School July 21-23 that will be structured like the Competition Camp.
