Jacob Edwards Signs with Lambuth
Coach Kevin Burton signed local standout, Jacob Edwards of Trinity Christian Academy Tuesday. Edwards was the starting point guard for the Lions the past two seasons.
This past season, Jacob averaged 12.8 points per game, dished out 75 assists and had 57 steals.Jacob was named to the District 15-A All District team and was named the District tournament MVP for boy's basketball. Jacob set a school record by making nine three- point field goals in a single game against Madison, but later broke that record in the district tournament by making eleven three- pointers against Riverside. He finished that contest with a career high of 38 points.
Jacob has been selected to play on the South squad in the West Tennessee Golden Circle All-Star basketball game.
TCA coach, Ken Northcutt commented on the signing, " We here at Trinity are especially happy that one of our student-athletes has the opportunity to continue on with their endeavors at such a great university like Lambuth."
Lambuth Coach, Kevin Burton commented, " Jacob is a fine player who really works hard. He attended our basketball camp and I was impressed with his ability and passion for the game. He is a tough player who we feel will fit right into our program."
