Fans across the nation are still watching the NBA. Major League Baseball has just completed the first third of the baseball season. People are planning their summer fun but all of those things still do not stop football fans from looking forward to the fall.

It will be a new era at Lambuth as Coach Hugh Freeze and his Eagles will begin their season August, 28, at Murray State.

One member of that Eagle squad will be senior receiver, Jonathan Abel.

Abel is featured in the national publication, Lindy's  Annual SEC Football Magazine.

Abel averaged 13.8 yards per catch last season, among the best on the Eagle squad. He's  been academic all-conference twice.

The article was written by sportswriter, Bill Sorrell.

The article concentrates on Abel's faith and his Christian witness as well as his football talents.

Sorrell has written many articles for various publications. Steve Gray, Dustin Hargrove, and Michael Beasley are just some of the Lambuth student-athletes who have been the subjects of his work.

Lambuth Athletics would also like to salute and thank Bill Sorrell for his interest and work featuring Lambuth athletes.
