The excitement of another football season is building around the campus of Lambuth University. Many of the returning Eagle football players have worked out during the summer and many of the newcomers are reporting daily. The official day to report for all players is August 3.
The excitment will continue to build after the results of Friday nights' Indiana Grange Insurance North-South All-Star Classic, and the battle for the starting quarterback position will add to the excitement.
Perry Meridian High School quarterback, Adam Wiese, was voted the MVP of the classic after throwing three touchdown passes. He was 16-21 in passing for 237 yards and led the South team to a 34-14 win. His touchdown passes were for 22, 30 and 65 yards.
Wiese recently signed with Coach Hugh Freeze and the Lambuth Eagles. He passed for over 2100 yards and 16 touchdowns this past year as a senior.
Coach Hugh Freeze commented on Wiese and his performance. " I am not surprised Adam had such a great game. He is a fine QB who has a passion for the game. He adds to an already good group of QB's who will battle for that starting position. It will be interesting."
Lambuth opens the season on August 28 at Murray State at 7p.m.
