The Lambuth Eagles had Murray State University fans squirming for almost three quarters last year. The Eagles, after leading 13-12 at the half saw things slip away with 2:50 left in the third quarter when the Racers scored the first of five straight touchdowns to win the contest, 48--13.
Lambuth's Allen Ervin finished with 134 rushing yards and receiver Jesse Ferrell caught four passes to lead the Eagles offense. Quentin Hurd led the Eagle defense with 10 total tackles.
The Eagles return to Murray State, Thursday, August, 28, for the 08 season opener. Kick-off is slated for 7p.m. All Eagle fans are encouraged to make the short trip to Murray, KY to support the Eagles and the debut of new head coach, Hugh Freeze.
Freeze commented on the opener."We are looking forward to all of our student-athletes reporting on August 3rd. We feel we have a great group of players returning. We have worked hard all summer with our recruiting efforts. We have some fine talent coming in and it is up to all of us to get ready for what we all know will be a tough opener."
Lambuth has been picked to finish fifth in the Mid-South Conference West Division pre-season poll.
