UT Martin and Union won the men's and women's cross country races, respectively, Saturday at the Union Cross Country Invitational.

On the men's side, all five of the Skyhawks' runners finished in the top 17 of 38 runners with Lucas Massey leading the way at No. 4. UTM finished with 48 points.

Union had three of the top five runners in Seth and Zach Covington (No. 1 and No. 3) and Joel Wellum at No. 5, but the bottom two Bulldogs finished No. 20 and No. 29 to drag down Union's score to 58 points.

Bethel's Nelphat Bor crossed the line at No. 2 to anchor the Wildcats to 64 points and a third-place finish. He was the only Wildcat to finish in the top 10.

Lambuth brought up the rear in fifth place with 96 points. Andrew Bonell and Luke Richardson paced the Eagles with 12th and 15th-place finishes, respectively, but the other three runners finished outside the top 20.

On the women's side, the roles reversed with UTM's Allie Proctor and Shannon Wall finishing No. 1 and No. 2, but Union grabbed the next three spots and edged out the Lady Skyhawks 27-29.

The five Union scorers placed in the top eight, led by Lydia Bond, Hannah Clardy and Danielle Partain finishing No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

Bethel came in a distant third with 90 points, paced by Ezim Amanchukwu in 21st place.

Lambuth placed two runners with DeAnna Dippold finishing behind Amanchukwu and Ann Atkins placing 31st.
