Jackson, TN - Coach Simon Duffy enters his second season at the helm of the Lady Eagle soccer squad. There will be at least six new faces for the upcoming season with eleven players returning.
“The TranSouth will again be a very tough test for us this year,” according to Coach Duffy.”
The midfield will be bolstered with newcomers Megan Ladner (Collierville, TN), Pam Grega (Lebanon, TN) and sophomore transfer Jessie Metcalf (Jackson, TN).
The attack will also see some new faces with Amy Pulliam (Memphis, TN), and Carolina Niembro (Querétaro, Mexico).
The Lady Eagles kick off the season with a scrimmage match against Division III Rhodes at Lambuth August 25th. They then travel to Mississippi to play William Carey and Embry Riddle Labor Day weekend.
The season gets no easier as the team faces tough opposition in Division I Austin Peay, followed by UT Martin and then Division II, Christian Brothers.
Coach Duffy added, “We want to improve on last year’s results, and that meant putting in a lot of hard work in the off season. We feel we should be a much better and improved team.”
