Ross Dudley

His high school coach still holds defensive records at Lambuth University. Ross Dudley was coached by one of the all-time Lambuth greats. Kevin Ward was a great defensive back at Lambuth back in the late eighties. To say Kevin Ward knows how to play and coach defense would be an understatement.

Ward still holds the record for interceptions in a season for Lambuth with 13 in 1989. He is fourth on the Lambuth all-time career interception list with 16.

For the past several years Ward has led his Camden Lions to the TSSAA play-offs. One of the many reasons the Lions have been successful is Ross Dudley.Dudley played both offense and defense for the Lions. His numbers on the offensive side were good numbers, but Lambuth Coach Hugh Freeze was more impressed by Dudley's  numbers on the defensive side. He had 142 tackles, 121 assisted tackles, 12 tackles for losses, eight interceptions and six fumble recoveries.

Coach Freeze first met Dudley at last year's summer camp at Lambuth." He came to our camp and we were very impressed with his play and character. He was so eager to work hard and just a pleasure to coach. He comes from a great program. We have so much respect for Kevin and his program.. Ross  is solid on and off the field."

Coach Ward commented, "  Ross has done a super job here at Camden for the past four years. He has worked really hard to get where he is today. Having the opportunity to play at the next level has always been a goal of his. Lambuth is getting an outstanding player while Ross is getting an opportunity to play football at an outstanding school with great coaches. With his work ethic, Ross will make himself a successful player while at Lambuth as well as making their program successful. I look for great things out of him in the years to come."
