Lambuth University is excited about the future of the Men's and Women's Golf programs and their prospects for the 2007 Season.
Lambuth will be under the direction of first year Head Coach Andy Farmer who is well know in the West Tennessee area for his golf skills.
The Eagles return three players from last year’s squads. Jordan Perry and Eddy Whitaker both return on the men’s team while Leslie Garside returns on the women’s team.
Coach Farmer has signed two additional players for the men’s team and has also encouraged three current Lambuth students to walk-on.
Coach Farmer said, “I feel confident we have the programs headed in the right direction. Seeing the slow progress over the past few years of both teams, I feel this will be a rebuilding process but both teams will grow in numbers and ability.”
Farmer is planning to have the teams play between two and three tournaments this fall, including the Rhodes College Invitational, the Delta State 19th Annual Derrall Foreman Intercollegiate Golf Tournament, and the Union University Fall Invitational. The teams are also planning to compete in about six tournaments in the 2008 spring semester.
