Paige Pyburn Has Game-Winning RBI
Paige Pyburn has delivered some big hits for the Lambuth Lady Eagles the past couple of years, but none any bigger than her walk-off game winning single that chased Tai Meadows home from second base Friday afternoon at the A.I.I.Conference tournament in Thomasville, Ga. With the 2-1 win the Lady Eagles remained alive in the tournament.
The pitching of Hannah Trice had kept Lambuth in position to set up the heroics. Trice fired a three-hitter. Her teamamtes were superb on defense with big play after big play.
Coach Jack Peel commented on the victory. " Hannah was great. Our defense has been so much better as of late and Paige delivered the big hit. I am really proud of this bunch."
The Lady Eagles will meet Cal-State San Marcos for the second time in as many days. Lambuth lost to the same team Thursday 4-2. The action begins at 6 p. m. Friday night.
Congrats to the Lady Eagles and Good Luck tonight.
