Collierville Golf Standout Dan Overheim
Lambuth Golf Coach Andy Farmer has signed another West Tennessee golf standout. Coach Farmer has reached into Shelby County to ink Collierville High School star, Dan Overheim.
Dan was a member of the CHS Varisty Golf team all four years. In his senior season he was Team Captain and the # 1 player on the squad. He qualified for the All-District Golf Team by placing 2nd at the District Tournament with a round of 70 and qualified for the Tennessee High School State Golf Championship for the second year in a row by finishing 7th in the Region Tournament. He was also named to the Commercial Appeal's Best of Prep 2009 Golf Team. Dan received the USJGT Excellence in Play and Academics Award for the second year in a row.
This young student athlete also excels in the classroom. He is a 2009 Honor Graduate of CHS. He is a member of the National Spanish Honor Society and was voted one of the most Outstanding Spanish AP students in 2009.
Dan's hobbies include his love of Christian Rock music and playing the guitar. He plays for the Episcopal Youth Groups at Holy Communion and Holy Apostles Episcopal churches in Memphis and Collierville.
Coach Andy Farmer commented on the signing. " We are really happy Dan has chosen Lambuth to continue his education. He brings not only his golf talent to our school but he also brings a great perpective to the classroom. He comes from a great family and we are proud he is now a member of our family here at Lambuth."
