Men's Soccer
]
The Eagles open their soccer season Saturday at home against Harris-Stowe. Men's action begins at noon with the Lady Eagles playing at 2 pm.
The Eagles advanced to the national tournament last year after being crowned the A.I.I. conference champion. Lambuth lost to Southern Nazarene 2-1 in the first round.
Coach Paul Conway enters his seventh season with the Eagles. Lambuth enters the campaign ranked # 23 in the NAIA pre-season poll.
As always Coach Conway has put together a top recruiting class. Those players along with the returning players will have to play well as the Eagles lost a staple of talent.
The Eagles will need to replace Ross Hayman, Chris Harrington, Adam Goldie, Paul Pinter and Wade Wadsworth. Wade will serve as a student assistant this season.
Coach Conway is excited about the season. " We had a great year last year but a lot of great players who played a lot of quality minutes are gone. We have some returning players who are capable of keeping us at that level. Some of our new players will play a lot as well. If we work hard we can be a national contender."
Lambuth's game against The University of Indianapolis scheduled Sunday in a tournament in Decatur, Al has been moved to Lambuth. The match begins at noon.
