The Lady Eagles traveled to Hattiesburg, MS this past Labor Day weekend to open up their 2007-08 season against Embry Riddle (Daytona Beach, FL) and William Carey (Hattiesburg, MS).

The weather was the one to decide if this game was to go ahead, as the skies looked ominous before the game. The game did kick off as scheduled but 18min in lightening in the area forced the referees to briefly suspend play with the score still a stalemate.

After the break both teams adapted well to the sloppy conditions but it was Embry who took the lead into the break as they scored two, almost identical goals, in the last 5min of the half.

It was more of the same story in the second half as Embry added another, 10min in, from a corner and never looked back. The speed of play was too much for the lady eagles to handle as they found themselves fighting an up hill battle as ‘man of the match’ #10 Elina Johansson of Embry netted her fifth of the day. The score ended up 6-0.

The Lady Eagles have a day off before they finish up their early season trip against home side William Carey, who dispensed of Embry Riddle last night 6-4.
