Ron Dickerson - Head Coach

Coach Ron Dickerson, former Temple University and Alabama State head coach is the first year   head coach of the Eagles. 

Dickerson was a member fo the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphin squad. He was a defensive back at Kansas State before being drafted by Miami.

Ron also authored the book, ' 101 Defensive Back Drills'. He was the president and founder of the Black Coaches Association.

Dickerson was the first African-American Head Coach of a Division-I school.

Coach Dickerson works with the defensive backs.

Ron and his wife Jeannie have two children and five grandchildren.

Athletic Director Ken Brown commented on Coach Dickerson, " Ron's knowledge and experience makes him a great mentor for our students. We feel very fortunate to have him lead our program."
 

Jorge Baez - Assistant Coach

Coach Jorge Baez comes to Lambuth from Ole Miss where he served as a Wide Receiver's intern on the staff of Houston Nutt. A native of Miami, Baez served on the staff of the Miami Hurricanes coached by Larry Coker

As a player he competed for Upper Iowa University and later earned a bachelor's degree in 2003 from Florida International University.

Baez will coach wide receivers and also serve as the recruiting coach.

Coach Dickerson commented on one of the newcomers to his staff. " Jorge has great knowledge of the game and has tremendous rapport with the players."



Tim Doggett - Assistant Coach

Tim "Dawg" Doggett is in second year as a member of the Lambuth family.

He comes to Lambuth from professional football. " Dawg" has 24 years of experience as head equipment manager and Football Operations.

Tim has spent time in the college ranks with Troy State (1991-96), and The Citadel (2001-2004).

He has worked in the professional ranks with Indianapolis (1999-2004), Kansas City (2005-2006), and  Cleveland (2007-present).

Tim was the Equipment Manager of the Year in the AFL IN 2002. He was also named Equipment Manager of the Year in the Southern Conference  while at The Citadel (01) and awarded the same honor in the Southland Conference while at Troy State (1996).

Coach Dickerson  commented on the "Dawg".  " Tim's vast experience is a great asset to our program. He has great passion for what he does and is one of the best at what he does as well.   We are fortunate to have him at Lambuth."

Josh Gehring - Assistant Coach
 

Coach Gehring is the new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He arrives  from Morningside College where he was named the American Football Coaches Association's 2009 NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year. The Mustangs were the fourth highest scoring team in the nation in 2009, averaging 45.1 points per game.

Prior to Morningside he was the defensive coordinator at Concordia University. He has also served as an assistant at Missouri State, Western Kentucky, Manchester College. and Ottawa University.

He is a native of Mounds, OK, and a 1999 graduate of Ottawa University. He received a master's degree in sports administration from Ball State.

Coach Dickerson commented, " Josh is an outstanding offensive coordinator. He will keep our offensive unit productive in every area. We are honored to have him as a member of our staff."

Don Pitt - Assistant Coach

Don Pitt  just completed his second season as the Offensive Line  Coach with the Eagles.
 
Don was a standout at Greenfield High School which carried over to his Lambuth days as a player. He was one of the toughest lineman in Lambuth history.
 
Coach Pitt spent the summer of 2007 playing in the United Indoor League for the Evansville Bluecats as an offensive lineman.
 
Don and his wife Emily, a Lambuth graduate,  just had their first child, Ellie was born in January.

Coach Dickerson commented on Coach Pitt, " Don is very dedicated. He is developing into being a great line coach. He has great passion for Lambuth and his student-athletes. He plans to make himself onto one of the best offensive line coaches in the nation and I believe he will succeed.

John Thompson - Assistant Coach

John Thompson joined the Lambuth Football staff in 2006. He serves as the Strength and  Conditioning Coordinator and defensive line coach.
 
Thompson is a 2006 graduate of Lambuth.  He played at the University of Louisiana Monroe from 2000 to 2002. He was named All-Sunbelt Conference at USM.
 
As a defensive end for the Eagles, John was First Team All Mid-South Conference and Second Team All-American. John holds Lambuth's single season sack record. Following his senior season, he was invited to the Cleveland Brown's Mini Camp.
 
John currently resides in Jackson and is the proud parent of four-year old, Annabelle Elizabeth Thompson.

Coach Dickerson commented on Coach Thompson, " No one has more passion for what he does than John. Our athletes are stronger physically and mentally because of Coach Thompson. We are also excited about him coaching the D line, which will be a key to our success."

Hillie Walton - Assistant Coach

The 2009 season was  Coach Hillie Walton's 12th season with the Lambuth football program. Walton serves as the academic liaison for the squad.

The highly motivated coach has been a college football coach for an impressive 30 years. He began his collegiate career at Lane College in 1969 where he served as the Defensive Line Coach.

Coach Walton graduated from Lane College with a B.A. in Counseling and Recreation, followed by his completion of a Science Degree in the field of Military Leadership from the Tennessee Military Academy.

Coach Walton is married to the former Josephine Haynes of Jackson. They have three daughters and two sons.

"Coach Walton is a very important person in our program ", according to Coach Dickerson." He is the ultimate servant and he loves this school and program."

Lee Wilbanks - Assistant Coach

Lee Wilbanks begins his third  season on the Eagle staff. Lee serves as the Recruiting Coordinator and also works with defensive backs.

Prior to coming to Lambuth, Coach Wilbanks was the Outside Linebackers Coach at North Carolina A&T.

Coach Wilbanks started his coaching career at Murray State as a graduate assistant in 2004.

Lee received his Bachelors of Science degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Mississippi in 2004. He also worked as a volunteer assistant at Ole Miss.

Lee and his wife Caroline reside in Jackson. Caroline is a elementary school teacher.

Coach Dickerson commented on Coach Wilbanks, " Lee is the hardest and one of the best recruiters I have ever known.  He is very organized. He works circles around most everyone. He is a great asset to our program and school."

Ben Aigamaua - Student Assistant
 
"Big Ben" just completed his senior season with the Eagles. He was a mainstay on the defensive line and was All Mid-South Conference.

Coach  Dickerson commented on Ben, " Ben has desire to coach and this will give him a good start. He is a hard worker and I expect he will some day make a fine coach at any level."

Lee Yandell - Student Assistant
 

Lee Yandell was one of the hardest working Eagles ever at Lambuth. He overcame injuries to become a very important member of the squad.

He will serve as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with John Thompson.

Coach Dickerson feels he has made an adjustment from player to Coach quickly. " Lee has been working with JT and has made a great adjustment from a player to a coach. He loves every aspect of coaching."
