Robin Rutherford, a sophomore Communiocations-Public Relations major, is a 5’3 defensive specialist from Cordova, TN. She has been playing volleyball for 7 years. She started by peppering in the yard with her sister Kat in 8th grade and haven’t stopped since. She graduated from Cordova High School where she was MVP 2 years, Best All Around 2 years, Best Defensive Player, All Region, and team captain her senior year. This is her second year playing for Lambuth. She was red shirted last year so she still has four years of eligibility.
Rutherford came to Lambuth on the Hamilton scholarship and walked on to the volleyball team. She hopes to study abroad and become fluent in Spanish and go to graduate school for Communications. Rutherford isn't sure what she will do with a degree in Communications but she has three years to figure it out so she's not too worried about it.
Rutherford says: "There are four kids in my family, three of which are now going to Lambuth. My older sister Kati also plays volleyball and my younger brother Donn now plays football here. I wouldn’t be surprised if my little brother Zach comes here when he graduates too. My parents are Bob and Kay Rutherford. My dad is a FedEx pilot so I’ve lived n Memphis in the same house my whole life. My favorite things to do are play volleyball, run, laugh, take naps, watch Golden Girls, and eat-as long as I didn’t have to cook it. All in all I’m a pretty laid back, go with the flow kind of kid."
