Sharda Brown
Class: JR
Hometown: Hopkins, MN

I was born on June 29th, 1988 in Hopkins, MN. I graduated from Hopkins High School on June 6th,2006 (6/6/06 crazy!!!!) and then I attended Lambuth in the Fall of 2006. I have a younger sister, 15, named Bianca Brown, she is my best friend. Also, my mother Vanessa Brown has been an inspiration to me my entire life and she is the strongest person I know.

In High school, I was the youngest co-captain of my cheerleading squad, becoming captain my junior year of high school. I was also a member of my school newspaper and received acclaim by the Star Tribune for an article I wrote about inner-racial segregation in my High School. I also have competed nationally through an organization called Planet Spirit. We have competed in the Universal Cheerleading Association Nationals and my greatest accomplishment was finishing 2nd at the UCA nationals which was held in Orlando, FL.

My future goals are to own a cheerleading gym, coach cheerleading and to become a school counselor. I feel that through coaching and becoming a counselor, I could help advocate for a safer community by reaching children and directing them to make the right decisions that could benefit their lives.
