Lore' Spencer started swimming for a summer league team at the age of fourand then joined club swimming at thirteen. Until college, she trained at Baldwin Mobile Aquatic Club. Spencer graduated high school in 2005 as the valedictorian for Chi Alpha Academy in Spanish Fort, AL. Her father Curtis is an engineer and her mother Nena is a physician.
 
Spencer has two pets: a Golden Retriever named Millie and a Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Brego.
