Karina grew up in California, but it wasn’t until she moved to Tennessee when she found the passion for the “beautiful game” of soccer. Since she started playing, her love for the game grew continuously. She was named captain of her high school team in her sophomore year and again in her junior year. After a series of unfortunate events, including a broken leg, Karina was not able to participate in a crucial year of soccer – senior year. Despite the drawback, Karina came to Simon Duffy with interest to play for him and Lambuth University. “My family and friends were very supportive to everything that was going on and Coach Duffy has done an excellent job of helping me get back into the swing of things.”

 

As a returning left mid-fielder, Karina is very excited about the upcoming season and school year. “Great things are happening around us, this year feels really good – if you know what I mean!” Along side her school work and soccer practices, Karina is also actively involved in many religious organizations in school, such as Religious Life Council, Pre-Ministerial, and Bishop’s Scholar. Karina is also a Resident Assistant in Carney Johnston this year.
