Kayla Lou Bryant, a freshman, says she was unfortunately given the name Kayla from a 1988 soap opera, Days of Our Lives. For some reason her mother, Gloria, thought it was pretty, and Kayla says she will never understand why.

Bryant was born in Panama City, Panama. Her dad, Mark, was stationed there for the Army at the time. About ten months later her my parents had her darling little brother, Justin. According to Kayal, he’s the favorite. The family moved around a couple of more times, but thensettled down in her mother’s hometown of Shelbyville, Tennessee.

Shelbyville is famous for the great Walking Horse Show and for making millions of pencils. Luckily, Bryant's sweet little town is also known for girl’s basketball. The Shelbyville Eaglettes have accomplished so much over the years and so have the teams which Bryant has been a poart of. During her basketball career, her teams have won a State Runner Up, State Championship, an AAUN National Championship, AAUN Nike National Runner Up, and a few AAU State Championships.

Bryant says: "I signed my scholarship to play for Lambuth in September 2006. I hope to add not one, but several NAIA National Championships to my list of team achievements."
