Height: 5-10
Position: G/F
Hometown: Fayetteville, TN

Maegan LeAn Sanders (known by her family and friends asMae) was born in Huntsville, AL and grew up in the small town of Fayetteville, TN. She has two brothers and one sister. Her brothers are 23 and 22 and her sister is 22. The oldest, Kole, is in the National Guard and Kreig is a Sergeant in the Army. Both of her brothers are serving a tour in Iraq this year, but Kreig will be serving close to two years. Her sister, Sarah Beth, is a senior in college and will graduate from the University of Mobile in December. Her dad works and travels for Frito Lay so she does’t really see him much. Her mom is a high school teacher at Lincoln County High and also attends MTSU where she is finishing up her accounting degree so she can be a CPA and quit teaching. Sanders has a one year old Great Dane who is a blue merle and weighs one hundred fifteen pounds. Sanders's granfather is her only living grandparent and says that "even though he won’t tell all the other grand kids we all know I’m the favorite!"

Sanders has been playing basketball since the third grade, but basketball is not the only sport she has ever done. She danced at Backstage for nine years and danced in the Nutcracker on Off Broadway in NYC when she was in the fifth grade. She also did gymnastics for six years and softball for four years. Basketball is her passion so she quit everything else to concentrate on it.

On her junior high team she was captain, all district, and earned the hustle award. In high school she took the most charges her sophomore and junior years and was first team all district. Sanders's high school team was the second best in school history of having a winning record and the first to defeat arch-rival Shelbyville Central.

Sanders says: "My future plans are undecided but I have put some thought into accounting or communications. My dream as a kid was to be a sports announcer on ESPN. Now I’m thinking about majoring in accounting and minoring in education. That’s why I came to Lambuth, to figure out my future and also to fulfill my dream of playing college basketball."
