Frehman Rachel Cunningham was born on Feb. 2, 1989 in Winchester, TN. She is the daughter of Tony and Lynn Cunningham. She has one sister, Caitlin, who is a junior at Franklin County High School. She also has 3 pets: two dogs, Chance, a cocker spaniel, Fred, a basset hound, and a parakeet named Precious. Cunningham also has a very special uncle named Marvin, he is a firefighter and is like a brother to her. Her grandparents and her granny are both a big part of her life as well. Cunningham says family is very important to her, and she loves and values all of her family members.
 
She attended North Lake Elementary School for elementary school, North Jr. High for Jr. High, and graduated from Franklin County High School in May 2007.
 
Cunningham's basketball career began when she started Jr. Pro in 4th grade. She received the team spirit award for the team. The next two years she played basketball for North Lake. Her sixth grade year she received all tournament. She also made the North Jr. High team and played there for 3 years. She has received such awards as Most Improved JV Player and Best Offensive Player.
 
Once in high school she made the Franklin County team and played there for 3 years. She made varsity all 3 years and helped her team to a 3rd place finish in the district as a junior, and in senior year FCHS finished 4th in the district and made it to the District and Region tournaments. She received the most rebounds award in her senior year and also had many double digits game in both her junior and senior seasons, including a game high 24 points against Riverdale and a 21 point effort against Smyrna. She averaged 10-12 pts and 6 rebounds per game during her high school career.
 
She has also played for various AAU teams. The summer before her junior year of high school she played for Tennessee Team Pride under the direction of Coach Zac Stark. Her ast year she played for Tennessee Elite. The team made it to the AAU nationals in Orlando, FL and placed in the Top 32 out of over 80 teams. She says she gained valuable knowledge and experience from her AAU teams.

Cunningham says: "My hobbies include hanging with my friends and family, listening to music, taking pictures, texting, and my all time favorite, sleeping. I signed to play at Lambuth on September 1, 2006 and I look forward to being part of the Lady Eagle family."
